The history of modified bitumen roof coverings over Loadmaster is impressive. The first installation of 20 year specification mod bits in the late 1980's over Loadmaster performed for over 30 years. These installations used black asphalt as the exposed surface coating with short term white surface coatings field applied. Today, the new surfacing of the Mod Bits is a white ceramic granule which embeds into the surface of the sheet and it is reported that 80% remain permanently. On Mod Bits with the new surfacing, bonded to Loadmaster's stress controlling system, it is anticipated that the service life of the membrane will be extended. From Loadmaster observations 30 years is in the bag and 40 years is not out of the question - only time will tell!
